At Scanica® Furniture, we are committed to delivering top-quality products and ensuring that every purchase meets your expectations. However, sometimes unforeseen issues may arise during the shipping process. Please read our detailed return and damage policy to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.
Returns for Damaged Items: What to Do
We take great care in packaging and shipping your items, but sometimes damage may occur during transit. To ensure you're covered in case of damage, we recommend following these steps:
Inspect Your Shipment Immediately Upon Arrival
When your furniture arrives, inspect the shipment carefully before signing for it. Any visible damages or shortages must be noted on the Bill of Lading or Freight Bill before signing. If you notice any damage, refuse the shipment and immediately contact us. We will arrange for the return of damaged goods at no additional cost to you.
Report Damages Within 2 Business Days
If you sign for the shipment without inspecting it first, we are unable to process any damage claims later on. Always write “Subject to Inspection” on the delivery receipt. If you notice damage, report it within 2 business days of receiving your furniture and email us pictures of the damaged parts.
We will then file a claim with the carrier and work to get your damaged parts replaced or repaired as quickly as possible.
Returns for Undamaged Goods: How It Works
We understand that sometimes you may change your mind after receiving an order. In this case, you can return undamaged items within 30 days under the following conditions:
Conditions for Returns of Undamaged Items
- The item must be in perfect condition and in its original packaging.
- Items that have been assembled are not returnable.
- You must notify us before returning the item in case any damage is identified.
Upon receiving the returned item, our warehouse team will inspect it. If we find any signs of damage caused by you, you may be asked to pay for the full price of the item.
Refunds for Undamaged Returns
Once the returned item passes inspection, we will issue a refund for the product (minus the original shipping cost). Please note that shipping charges for returned items are not covered by Scanica® Furniture.
Cancellation of Orders
You can cancel your order at any time before it has shipped. However, for Canadian-made furniture, cancellations may not be possible once the order is in production. If the order has already shipped, shipping fees will still apply.
Limitations on Returns and Warranty Coverage
Natural imperfections such as grain variations, wood knots, minor cracks, or finish imperfections are not considered defects and are not covered by warranty. Please understand that these are natural characteristics of wood and do not affect the structural integrity of the furniture.
